Ferments and Probiotics
- Duration: 5 Hours
In a very small hands-on class (7 people maximum) we'll be learning:
- all about fermented drinks and how to make them: milk kefir, water kefir and kombucha
- all about fermented foods and how to make them: lacto-fermented pickles, sauerkraut, kimchi
- plus you'll take home a bottle of water kefir AND water kefir grains, a jar of pickles and a jar of sauerkraut.
THIS CLASS INCLUDES:
- morning tea
- 2 course lunch
- a farm tour
- recipe booklet
- a bottle of our water kefir
- new 2 litre jar made up with water kefir grains
- a jar of pickles (375ml)
- a jar of sauerkraut (500ml)
Cancellations
Bookings are non refundable, but if you can give us a weeks notice we are super happy to move you to another date. If you need to cancel at the last minute please send someone else in your place.
About The Farm
Buena Vista Farm is a small sustainable farm on the outskirts of Gerringong, just under 2 hours drive south of Sydney. Buena Vista is a family-owned and -run enterprise, with continual family ownership dating back to the 1850s. The farm is currently run by Fiona and Adam Walmsley, with Fiona’s parents also still living on the farm. It has been a small goat dairy with cheeseroom and a commercial market garden, now a cooking school with bee hives, cows, pigs, chickens, guinea fowl, kitchen garden, herb garden, an established coffee grove, small orchard and new cut flower garden in progress!
